About Us

Step back into the Golden Age of Big Game Fishing at the Wedgeport Tuna Museum.  Explore the thrilling history of the legendary International Tuna Cup Match, where anglers, celebrities, and world leaders—from Ernest Hemingway to President Roosevelt—came to battle the mighty Bluefin. The Wedgeport Sport Tuna Fishing Museum and Interpretive Centre was founded in 1996. The museum serves as the custodian of this legacy, housing trophies, artifacts, and a replica tuna boat, ensuring the village's deep roots in both Acadian culture and international sport fishing are preserved.

The village of Wedgeport, a vibrant Acadian community in Nova Scotia, was resettled by Acadians returning from exile in 1767, marking it as one of the region's most historic sites. Our village is located just a short, scenic drive (under 20 minutes) southwest of Yarmouth along Highway 334 and is a prominent feature of the beautiful Yarmouth & Acadian Shores tourism region in Nova Scotia.  Learn more
